A BBA is essentially a degree for comprehensive business education. It offers a window into the functionalities of a business and allows graduates to pick their specialization at the graduate level or offer enough knowledge about the business that can be applied to any industry and brand. BBA students will be able to leverage their foundational knowledge on business and its many facets such as logistics, marketing, supply chain, accounting, etc.
Sometimes students come with work experience but do not have the right degree, and most companies that are doing well look for candidates who have at least a bachelor’s degree to start with. After a BBA course, numerous opportunities will remain open before the candidates that would have otherwise not been available. One can work at a managerial position or have their own company or business running.
3 Types of BBA Majors
There are three main types of BBA degrees that can be categorized.
General BBA
The general BBA studies include subjects like management, entrepreneurship, international business, etc. One may argue that these are vague subjects and may not offer the needed expertise, but these are subjects that offer foundational knowledge. Candidates enjoy the luxury of working in any organization. Entrepreneurship, for example, is an excellent topic for those who are interested in running their own business. Although actual work is the best way to gain experience, some knowledge and grooming will give one a better head start. It is also a good program for those who want to further study and do an MBA.
Technical BBA
The technical majors of BBA include subjects like supply chain, management information system, operations, etc. These subjects require more technical knowledge than others and majoring in these subjects makes a person more employable and also mostly gets them good paychecks above the industry standard. It is best for students who love technology, business studies, and have a knack for problem-solving.
Professional BBA Majors
These are majors in finance, advertisement, marketing, accounting, etc. Majoring in these subjects comes with the added advantage of being employable across varied sectors. These subjects are integral to the working of every organization and a company’s success relies heavily on them. Therefore, these subjects are termed and categorized as professionals as they are fundamental to the workings of every workplace. These are also the most popular subjects that students major in as they are most in-demand in the market.
Based on what kind of job one would like to do and the industry they want to work in, students can pick up a BBA degree and choose to specialize accordingly.
